چکیده

This paper presents an analytical method for modeling the no-load air gap flux density of a surface-mounted and consequent-pole linear Vernier hybrid machine (LVHM). The approach is based on simple magneto-motive force (MMF) permeance functions to account doubly-slotted LVHM. These models are used determine linkage, induced electromotive (EMF) average thrust each machine. accuracy two validated by comparison with 2D finite element (FEM) solutions. Based models, it found that working harmonics both LVHMs essentially same. However, magnitudes these in LVHM invariably greater than those Further, using model, contribution individual harmonic can be shown clearly, explain why has improved performance despite only 50% permanent magnet (PM) material compared

2D Analytical Modeling of Magnetic Vector Potential in Surface Mounted and Surface Inset Permanent Magnet Machines

A 2D analytical method for magnetic vector potential calculation in inner rotor surface mounted and surface inset permanent magnet machines considering slotting effects, magnetization orientation and winding layout has been proposed in this paper. The analytical method is based on the resolution of Laplace and Poisson equations as well as Maxwell equation in quasi- Cartesian coordinate by using...

A Dual-Consequent-Pole Vernier Memory Machine

This paper proposes a novel dual-consequent-pole Vernier memory machine (DCP-VMM) featuring alternatively arranged NdFeB and low coercive-force (LCF) magnet poles on the rotating and stationary sides, respectively. Due to the presence of LCF magnets that can be repetitively magnetized or demagnetized via a simple current pulse, the extra-high torque density at low-speed, and excellent high-effi...

Influences of Winding MMF Harmonics on Torque Characteristics in Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Vernier Machines

This paper presents the influences of winding magneto-motive force (MMF) harmonics on the torque characteristics in surface-mounted permanent magnet vernier (SPMV) machines. Based on the magnetic gearing effects, the armature magnetic field of the SPMV machines is modulated by flux modulation poles (FMPs). In the modulated magnetic field, a working harmonic which corresponds to the number of th...

Modeling and Static Analysis of Primary Consequent-Pole Tubular Transverse-Flux Flux-Reversal Linear Machine

A novel primary consequent-pole tubular transverse-flux flux-reversal linear machine (TTFFRLM) is proposed in this paper. The permanent magnets (PMs) of the machine are located on the inner surface of the short teeth of the primary iron cores for reducing the amount of PM in long stroke drive systems, and the primary is easily manufactured. The structure and principle of this machine are analyz...

A Novel Design Method for the Geometric Shapes of Flux Modulation Poles in the Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Vernier Machines

This paper presents a novel approach to determine geometric shapes of flux modulation poles (FMPs) by using the analytical equations for flux density distribution due to armature windings. The magnetic field by the windings is modulated by the FMPs. Then, the resulting magnetic field produces the torque by interacting with the rotor permanent magnets (PMs). Thus, to improve the output power of ...
